As expected, Sun Cellular, the Philippine’s leader in budget telecommunication services has lunched, just recently it’s wireless broadband service to compete with the services offered by communication giant’s, Smart Bro Prepaid and Globe Visibility. Although they are currently the newest player, it is not assuming to say that they have quite the leading edge compaired to the other products in the market considering their pricing strategy.
Just like their call and text rates, Sun Broadband Wireless is affordable-y priced. An unlimited package with up to 400 kbps download speed costs 999 pesos while the consumable based package is priced at 799. If you want to pump up the speed, getting Plan 1999 gives you 1.4 Mbps download speed. 3.5G technology is what drives this baby so you need to be in a location where 3G is available.

They also provide the USB modems for free so you only have to pay less for subscription. I’m not sure about the exact terms and conditions of the contract but I know there’s a minimum lock-in period involved. It’s not that heavy considering the bang of the buck you get from it.
As of this moment, Sun’s Broadband service is only available in Makati, Manila, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Pasay, and Pasig but expansion plans include Davao, Cebu and the rest of Manila.
