If my memory serves me right, the last sex scandal to hit the province of Southern Leyte particularly the city of Maasin has been about two to three years ago involving two high school students from the local Catholic school, Saint Joseph College. It happened during the time when sex scandals were rampant in the country and was released almost the same time as the Dumaguete and Manila sex scandals were spreading like wildfire.
The culprits, or shall I say the stars, is a son of a known lawyer and the daughter of a business magnate. Video quality was paltry since cellphones back then is limited only to VGA for resolution. It didn’t spread like wildfire since not as many people have phones capable of multimedia messaging, not even bluetooth. Anyone who may have watched this first Maasin City Sex Scandal may remember the stars drinking soft drinks after the quick sex scene (at least that’s what stuck in my head).
Just last week, on September 12 to be exact, while I was in the city enjoying my vacation leave a new sex video became the talk of the town which involves a student from the same school, Saint Joseph College and the local franchise of STI. This time, the video is much clearer as well as the sounds. It appears like the lovers were taking the videos themselves using their phones and doing the deed in a well lit room. It’s much more interesting than the other maasin city sex scandal video and by “interesting” i mean comedic. Edser (not his real name…or is it?), the guy (who’s a friend of mine) looks like a madman and the girl who knows how to “handle the act” also managed to make funny sexual gestures.
Apparently, the girl’s phone, which contains the video was lost and whoever found it shared their dirty little secret through bluetooth and eventually it reached my mom’s phone. Yep, I happen to see the Maasin City Scandal on mom’s phone. She showed it to my sister too. It’s a bit awkward considering it’s still porn. Well, judging from the way people have been acting after the this scandal erupted, it’s already considered okey, even for priests or teachers, to share the video to anybody.
As of this writing, I haven’t spoke to my friend, Edser, yet. All I know is he went to Davao with the girl to run away from the shame it caused his family. His mother, a college instructor in a sectarian school who’s also active in church activities, together with his father has been raiding several internet cafes’ in the city who also tried to generate some cash out of this fiasco by charging twenty pesos per download. They didn’t even know that the video was already posted in the internet (no, it’s not on Youtube).
Truly, this one hell of an incident has rocked the small city which pride itself of it’s high moral standards and fear in god.
