Huh!

I’m supposed to be in Maasin City, my hometown, this morning but here I am, still stuck in Cebu, trying my luck to land the perfect job. I never thought it would be this difficult, time consuming and exciting at the same time.

I’ve never been out of my room for about two months, perfecting my blog and learning new ways to perfect my computer skills and language skills at the same time and seeing a lot of people, specially those who look fashionistas, made me feel intimidated but it only took me 5 minutes to adjust and start talking to the one seating beside me. I didn’t know I still have that power.

My first stop was Convergys. The taxi driver chose it for me. passed all of their tests, so far and I’m going back tomorrow for a final test and, if lucky, a final interview, and if I’m luckier, a job! It seems like they are planning to put me on tech department.

The next one is People Support. They need someone with wide background on business and travel and i didn’t made the cut.

The last stop was Teletech. Jamie, a friend of mine who works there, referred me. I was there around 11 AM today and I left around 5 PM. It was really a long day but I was not frustrated. They processed me initially and I already passed the final interview and tomorrow, I’ll be on my way for a physical exam. I hope nothing’s wrong with me so I can start working immediately.

I really need a job right now. I understand that that means I have to sacrifice my study again to earn a living. It’s not really a tough decision to make since I realized earlier on, that I can still learn something more through experience.

My only regret now is not keeping my promise to ma’am Emely, a mentor of mine. I hope to see her once I arrive Maasin and explain to her the reasons for such decisions. It’s more than just about money. It’s about personal growth.

You should have emailed me your CV/Resume. Email it to me quick. And indicate where you prefer to work, Manila or Cebu.

I sure hope you still find the time and resources to finish your studies.

Made the same mistake early on in my career. I was earning a lot while I was still studying which had me decide to take my work full time.

Others find it easier to land good management jobs with their degrees and PhD’s

No regrets on my part though… I love how what I do right now

Hehehe. the reason why I haven’t finished yet is because of my first job. I don’t thnk it’s a mistake though. I think it’s part of the whole learning process and now I’m proud to say I’m better at time management now.

I still have plans to finish my degree. 1 more year and I’ll have my diploma. I’m gonna do it once I’m a regular call center agent heheh. Para may 50% educational assistance.
