They are looking at the possibility that Edison, arranged for the technician to spread the photos to help boost his image internationally, just like what Paris Hilton did, in the hopes he would be able to conquer Hollywood.They are also asking him if Vincy, the daughter of his manager’s boss, who was also involved in what they now call “the 911 of Chinese entertainment industry” was already 18 when he took the photo of her in the shower.
Earlier, Edison wrote a letter to his fans saying:As of this evening, the police have made significant advances towards solving this malicious crime. As from the beginning I will continue to give the police my fullest cooperation to bring the perpetrators to justice. At this time I am not able to discuss matters related to the case, but I do feel it is my obligation to accept full responsibility and take action to help both the victims and those associated with them to heal their wounds. In this regard, I plead with everyone to please stop forwarding the images on the Internet. Furthermore, to completely rid the images from your computer. This is a small step that each one of us can take to help the innocent rebuild their lives. The priority now is for all of us to pitch in and help those in need….I would like to say sorry to all the people of Hong Kong. I give my apologies sincerely to you all, unreservedly and with my heart… I know many young people in Hong Kong look up to many figures in society, and in this regard I failed as a role model.
He aso mentioned in his press conference that he would step away from the Hongkong entertainment industry to “heal himself”. According to him, he would be doing volunteer work in the US while he clears his mind. He also added that he would be back only when society moves on.It was rumored that Edison was only forced to excuse himself from HK’s limelight because he’s black listed from movie studios. Producers, writers, directors, are refusing to work with him after the scandal. Perhaps, they just fear competition.Chen called on anyone who possessed the images to destroy them immediately. “Let’s help the wounded heal their wound,” he added, calling the photos’ distribution “malicious and criminal”. Good luck on that!Kira, the mastermind of the said fiasco reportedly contacted Edison prior to releasing these images and asked for 5 million US dollars in exchange of the photos but Chen declined. As of the moment, Kira, is still on the loose.
The time bomb is still ticking as the next photo release would include photos of Edison Chen with wives and daughters of Hongkong’s businessmen and politicians.When, that happens, this blogger will be the first one to post about. That’s a promise.

finally, an english description of what happened! my (HK) wife and all her friends have been doing nothing but talk about these photos since the scandal first got reported in the gossip mags.
I can’t see why it’s such big news. surely Chinese movies stars do ‘the nasty’ too?
