TTP Disease : What is TTP Blood Disease?

It’s Tuesday and I feel like writing a post about TTP disease. You might not hear of the TTP blood disease yet as it is not that popular.

TTP disease is a rare blood disease that causes blood to coagulate. Blood cells running through these microscopic clots become subject to sheer stress causing a damage on the blood membrane.

A rare form of this TTP disease is called the Upshaw-Sch�lman syndrome. It is a form of TTP blood disease which is genetically inherited.

TTP stands for Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and it comes with 5 common symptoms which are: kidney failure, fever, neurologic symptoms, low platelet count, anemia and jaundice.

TTP disease can be cured through plasmapheresis. This process involves replacing the patients blood with a donor’s blood with no TTP disease. This would be done for daily for eight weeks until the patient’s blood normalize.

TO WHOM EVERY WROTE THIS
I HAVE HAD TTP AND IT IS NOT THE BLOOD THAY REPLACE IT IS THE PLASMA THAY REPLACE THROUGH APHERESIS SO PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE YOU WRIGHT ABOUT IT
