If you’re a fan of Nicholas Sparks, author of best selling romance novels of our time, who wrote The Notebook or if you seen the silver screen version of the critically acclaimed book, you would know what dementia is and it’s effects.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. It is degenerative, terminal and, even with today’s advance technological breakthroughs on science and technology, still has no known cure. It mostly affects the older generations starting from the age of 65. It’s the 6th leading cause of death in the US. Luckily, my surviving grand parents who belong to that age group already does not have this disease.
The Alzheimer’s Association is organizing Alzheimer’s Memory Walk the nation’s largest event aiming to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care. It is a two to three mile walk which will be held on a weekend by fall. Over 600 communities will be joining the said walk-for-a-cause event and they are still looking for more people to join this cause.
Who knows, the life you’re gonna save will be your own.
