I’m a movie buff but I’m not really into horror flicks. I had lots of worse experience with this genre and thats not because I chicken out when it comes to the gory part but it’s because a lot of the past horror films I saw seems more funnier than comedy and lousier than drama specially those Korean or Japanese horror movies. Just because it involves a lot of fake blood, a ghost, an scary looking hair do, does not make it a horror flick. I wonder why a lot of my friends love it. Perhaps they just have poor taste.
I heard about this horror film called Frontier(S) which was slapped with an NC-17 rating for extreme sadistic gore and violence, I knew this horror film is totally legit. I even got goosebumps just from watching the movie Trailer.
After Dark Films, the producer decided to release it in all its violent and sadistic glory even when it means they can’t release it to the mainstream. Yeah, they are releasing it UNCUT.You don’t always see an NC-17 movie on the big screen but the guys from After Dark Films managed to convince a selected theaters to run in for a week starting last May 9.
Frontier(s) revolves around a bunch of friends chased by the French police after they pull off a bold heist and ends up in a seemingly peacefully inn. Little did they know the inn was run by cannibalistic psychopaths. This is where the graphic part begins. Expect a lot of blood, torture, mutilation and other graphic scenes which made this movie the best horror film of the season.
For those who, for some reasons can’t catch it this week on the big screen, you can just order your own Frontier(S) DVD which will be released on May 13.
A little word of warning though. It’s not a movie for the faint hearted.
