Mobile Blogging the Smart Way

I finally got the chance to travel to seek employment in Cebu City, in some call center. I still don’t know exactly which company yet and I don’t even know how to get there just riding a jeep.

It won’t be my first time to be in the Queen City of the South. Been there a lot of times for seminars and trainings when I was still with the Sangguniang Kabataan. But, today is different. Today, I’m going there searching for a job, a new home, a new life and, a renewed sense of self worth.

But that’s not the only thing I’ll do for the first time today. It’s also the fist time for me to use my outdated Nokia N75 phone for blogging and that’s what I’m doing right now at the one corner of Cokaliong’s M/V Filipinas Maasin.

It’s more convinient to use the GPRS capability of your phone than getting yourself a Smart Bro Portable and it’s more savy than carrying bulky laptops. It’s easy to setup too. Just give your network tech support (operator) a call and have them do the dirty job. Take note that you need a GPRS or 3G capable phone. The next step will be to install Mobile Opera. You can have it installed at your local phone shops or you can go to Opera.com to download the application. They provide a step by step instruction that even a non-techie could comprehend. Once you get those things done, you can start accessing your favorite websites and even drop Entrecards.

The best thing about it is that it’s cheap specially when you are using Smart. At ten pesos per 30 minutes, it’s just much affordable than going to Netopia.

P.S. Mobile Opera does not have spell check so do a post script like this and admit you suck at spelling. It’s better to tell people upfront than having someone else point that out in the commets section. Nyahahaha
