Untitled (This ain’t about Simple Plan’s Song)

I hate blogging! I hate it in times like these. My eyes are falling out of its sockets, my body’s commanding me to lay in bed and my fingers are are screaming for deliverance! I know it sounds silly to hear a blogger complain about, well, BLOGGING! No one’s forcing me to post it’s just that blogging has been a part of now that a day, or two, without posting something in here feels like a crime.

As I have mentioned on my previous post, I’m currently focused on a new project, a social networked for the Amish-like community I come from. There not really like Amish, Amish heheh I just like to call them that cause most of the people I know here, although don’t look or speak like one, practice the same conservative lifestyle most Amish are practicing. It’s not an insult of something. Hope you don’t get me wrong.

Anyway, there are 27 registered remembers now and I’m still hoping for something viral to happen like John Chow’s Shit Video. Perhaps, one of this days, I’ll post a video of my shit, from different angles, and post it on Youtube and plaster my sites URL in there. Geeezz! Perhaps one half of the blogging population has done that by now. So much for shit. This post should just be about MaasinSii, MaasinSii and Maasinsii.

I built Maasinsii.com on Dolphin, a social network cum match-making free open source platform from Boonex.com. Dolphin is actually the second platform i used since I was not satisfied by the first one, Elgg, due to it lack of visual appeal and features. It comes with a blogging platform; Orca and Ray; application platforms for Audio, video and forums. They’re absolutely free unless, of course, you want to delete the sponsored links. Since it’s a social network, users have the option to customize their own pages, add pictures, embed videos and post those glittering texts, from god knows where.

Having an online community portal for Maasin City is one helluva childhood fantasy of mine. I even coded one on html using just notepad and the Internet Explorer browser and deployed it on homepage.com (defunct). i would have gone for an installation of the latest phpBB script and start my own forum but since forum softwares have been available to the masses already and every site, even site about bukake t-shirt prints , has one installed.

I don’t know if this venture would succeed in terms of user loyalty and participation but so far, the response has been good. Better, to be exact. I don’t really care if this one would just be a liability compared to my other net portfolios but that’s the last thing I would care about …
