American Idol

Just days after Reynaldo Lapus’ rendition of his “We’re Brothers Forever” on American Idol, several versions of his song are now circulating in the net.

It seems like Simon’s prediction came trueand, well, Rey is now an instant celebrity not just in the US but the whole wide world. Thanks to the internet, that is.The song’s rhythm sounded close to Victor Wood’s classics and I guess Victor was on of his idols when he was growing up in the Philippines.As a Filipino, again, I could not help but feel for him even if he is just one of the goofballs of the show.I hate to admit it but well, I am now a Reynaldo fanatic and his song keeps on repeating in my mind and Youtube is not helping it either.Now I can’t help but wonder why Reynaldo Lapus’ instant fame makes me as proud to be a Filipino as I am now than the when I hear about Manny Pacquiao’s victories.Bakit kaya?P.S.I have compiled Reynaldo’s Interviews and Remixes of his songs below. Maybe you would start singing the song at the back of your head too.
